A Tiring Birthday

Mike got a Nest thermostat for Christmas and wanted to paint the wall it will hang on, otherwise, we’d have two different paint colors showing. We also decided to start remodeling our house again. It has been a number of years since we did real remodeling. We celebrated Mike’s birthday this morning, went for a family run, and then visited a familiar store – Home Depo. It took us longer than we remembered to agree on a paint color for the wall. Mike painted the wall and one outside our bedroom too while I took down the Christmas decorations and started working on removing the wallpaper from the downstairs bathroom. It’s about time we decided to work on that bathroom; we’ve hated the dark blue with flowers wallpaper since we moved in. Mike helped with the wallpaper removal until we stopped around 3:00pm. It was a long day for us. We’re only about 1/4 of the way done with the bathroom and our goal is to finish it before Maggie comes in two weeks. The painted walls look great! We did have a thermostat snafu but a quick call to Nest Service got us squared away. It was a great day!
