99 degrees
t is hot, hot, HOT this weekend! Today, Bob (our digital weatherman) registered 99°. Woooowee! Tomorrow, it’s supposed to his 100°. And it’s been this warm most of the weekend.
Saturday morning, Mike grudgingly accompanied me to a fun run for the St. Andrew’s Legal Clinic. A client of mine (Standard Ins.) asked BMSC to join their team. A handful of us decided to participate. Unfortunately for Mike, I coerced him into running too. At least we received a Standard Ins. T-shirt and a fun run shirt too. The race started at the Kennedy School, which is a McMenamins. It was a lot of fun. Mike, Jen Durham and I started running together. Mike was faster than us and decided to take off and run on his own. He finished the 6k in an impressive 35:02. Jen and I planned to run together until I split off to complete the 10k. Unfortunately, or not, I missed the split and continued to run the 6k in over 37 minutes. It was a really hot morning and we were running in our Standard Ins. T-shirts, which were a dark blue. The race provided a complimentary beer and slice of pizza, which we gratefully accepted. It was a really fun run. We didn’t do much else the rest of the day, largely owing to the heat and the subsequent beer we drank at lunch at McMenamins’ Rock Creek.
Sunday wasn’t a whole lot of fun. I went to work early this morning and didn’t return until after 3:30 pm. I’m very busy! Mike finished the roof on the shed and it looks wonderful! We’re so proud to have built it together – and it actually looks nice. There are a few “oops” with the shed, but hey, it’s our first carpentry job; it’s to be expected.
