Trip to Redmond, WA

Last Saturday, Mike and I visited Fred and Amy Lindkvist (and Juniper) in Redmond, WA.  We had a great time.  After walking Juniper, we went to “the big” REI to look for a particular climbing movie.  Didn’t find the movie but I found a good deal on a running shirt.  Then, we had lunch at a small restaurant at Pike’s market.  We watched the fish vendors throw some fish and bought some smoked salmon while we were there.  Yum!  Then we started our tour of the wineries in the area.  Our tour ended up being short, as we didn’t get farther than the Red Hook Brewery.  The brewery tour was entertaining and provided plenty of refreshing beverages….beer, of course.  Then, back to Fred and Amy’s house for dinner.  It was a wonderful day!  Amy made a huge breakfast the next morning and we drove back to Portland.

The work week was very crazy for me.  I was behind from all the depositions I had the past two weeks and I was preparing for a trial with Mark.  On Wednesday, Mark and I went to The Dalles to try a case the following day.  We had some spare time, so we went on a run.  It was the first time we ran together and I enjoyed it.  Mark was an All-Star runner in college (or All-American…whatever it is, he still holds a record).  Thursday, we started our trial.  Friday, the judge recused himself from the case because he learned that someone he is close to was remotely involved in the corporation that we were defending.  Mistrial!  Crap!

Mike says he didn’t do anything special last week – just worked.  We’re going to have to work on his participation with the blog.  :)

Today, we went to a pumpkin patch in North Plains.  We stole a ride on the train (because we didn’t know we were supposed to pay for it).  Eventually, we paid our admission, entered the corn maze, found all the checkpoints, received our prize for completing the corn maize, picked out some pumpkins and took a lot of photos.  It was a fun morning.  This afternoon, Mike worked and I decorated the house for Halloween.  We just finished watchingBatman Begins – which we both agree is a great movie.
