We are residents of Deschutes County!

We made the move, though it wasn’t the easiest. After moving and spending a week in the Casita on the property, we moved into a single bedroom apartment in eastern Bend, just below Pilot Butte. Pilot Butte is a great find - the top has a beautiful view and the hiking around it is great. There’s also a nice running train on Larkspur Trail, starting at the base of the butte.

The apartment is fine, definitely an IKEA apartment so the quality of everything is cheap. In fact, we had to get our frying pan and knives from the Casita to supplement what was provided in the kitchen. We are enjoying the area and starting to find our groove. There are a couple tap houses with really good food carts around them that we’ve frequented perhaps a little too much to begin with. Iris was not a fan of the move but I think she’s adapting. Working in the same room as Mike has its challenges, especially when we both have conference or Zoom calls at the same time. Actually, I think Mike drew the shorter straw because I tend to be a little loud when I talk. We’re really doing fine with it and making it work.

We saw Matt Wittmer yesterday to discuss exterior paint colors and stain. The house is looking great. The hardwood floors are in and beautiful. I love the trim work and beefy interior doors. We are slightly disappointed with the installation of the decks but it’s a small point when everything else looks so nice.
