Camping at Our Place
We did it – we closed on the property at Atkinson. 19.2 acres of central Oregon gorgeousness is ours. We are camping on it this weekend. It’s been wonderful! Mike has been outside on the property, taking photographs or planning the entire time. Iris has had a great time romping around and smelling everything she could. On our morning walk on the BLM property down to the Deschutes River, she went “crazy clean dog” and started running and sprinting around everywhere. It was like she turned off her brain and was running on pure doggy joy. It made us laugh.
I went for a run and met one of our neighbors, Lori, and her dog, Chloe. We ran a mile or two together. It was such an amazing run. The loop from our property to Tetherow Crossing and back around on the roads is about 5 miles.
Mom and Dad and Mattie came to visit and we had a picnic. That was a lot of fun.
Then, our agent Jeff showed up with a welcome gift – a bucket of stakes and string, etc. to start planning our house. Cool!
I think Iris and I got too much sun. We’re cold and tired tonight. Mike is, of course, still outside wandering around. I love it that he loves this place so much! We are going to be so happy here. This is the start to a fun adventure for us.
