Beer, Kombucha, and Mud…But No Legos

Beer, Kombucha, and Mud…But No Legos

It was a good weekend. Mike suggested a date. He suggested we see Legos the Movie and begin with beer and snacks at the Growlerie, in the same business block as Cinetopia. The movie was sold out so we went to the Growlerie. It was cute. We are not sure whether it will last but they had a lot of small Oregon brewery beers on top, with a neat digital menu of the beer selection. We bought a growler of Good Life’s Sweet As. I also tried a drink called Kombucha. The host explained it’s a health tea. It stinks but I thought I’d try it. According to the internet, it is claimed to cure digestive issues, cancer, hairlessness, and AIDS. It’s also known to kill people with the side effects. Look at me living dangerously. It tasted like a pumped-up cider. Mike had to help me finish it.

We left a nasty pizza place in the same complex after hearing an unhappy family leave early, being unimpressed with what we saw and the menu, and seeing the low rating on Yelp. We were proud of ourselves for leaving because it wasn’t going to get any better. We ended up at a new McMenamins that wasn’t near as good our “our” local McMenamins.

On Sunday, I ran Hagg Lake. It was a lot harder than I anticipated. It was super muddy, maybe more muddy than any other year that I ran. I finished in 3:36 and was exhausted and dehydrated. Mike and Iris went with me. Mike is so awesome!! It was great to have his support. Needless to say, we pretty much vegged the rest of the day and went to bed early. It was nice.
