Last weekend was the Portland Marathon and it was tough. I finished it in 4:27, which isn’t a great time but at least I finished. I think training and health (I was on the tail-end of a cold) affected the race. Mike’s photos of the race are hilarious. At about mile 2, photos show me blowing him kisses and smiling. At mile 12, I look grumbly and crabby. Finally, at mile 25, I look determined. After the race, we watched Marlo and Ryan Nedwicke finish the marathon. It was their first and I was so proud of them.
My cold worsened after the marathon. We haven’t slept real well since then because I wake up coughing repeatedly during the night. Last night, I only had one coughing fit. We were excited to finally get some sleep.
A couple weeks ago, we went to the Body Works exhibit at OMSI with Marlo and Ryan. That was really cool. The artist used real cadavers to show the internal workings of the body. It was freaky, morbid and fascinating at the same time.
We’re still thinking of moving but have decided not to push it until January to March of next year. That will give us time to decide where to live and to finish some projects around our house. We keep looking on John L Scott for houses. I think we’ve found at least four perfect places, so it’s nice to know that what we want is out there.
