Sunriver
A lot has happened the last two weeks. Mike resigned from Planar. His last day is this Thursday. He’s going to work on Coign Studio full time, with an eye on any job postings that he might be interested in. Mike is a little nervous about leaving a steady paycheck and going out on his own, but he is also very excited. We are confident that Coign Studio will be a success. With
Mike at the helm, it couldn’t be anything else but successful.
We just returned from another OADC conference at Sunriver, Oregon. We love it that my firm finances a mini-vacation for us. The partners are very happy with me at the moment, so I decided to cash in on my popularity and stay at the nicer (and more expensive) River Lodge this year, rather than the typical guest lodges. The gas fireplace and the view were great!
Unfortunately, the weather was a little cool this year so we didn’t spend a lot of time on the deck or doing outdoor activities. It was still very nice to be pampered for a weekend and away from Portland.
The classes at the OADC conference were only okay this year, but at least I received Washington State CLE credit for them as well as Oregon. Now, I have all my Washington CLEs completed and can finish my application for admission to the Washington State Bar. Yikes, more law to be held responsible for knowing. At least, I’ll get big bonus points at my firm for it.
Mike is excited about climbing again. We haven’t gone to the gym much since our trip to City of Rocks, but we’re both dedicated to renew our commitment to the sport. The last time we went to the gym, I completed a route I had been working on for a little while. I also got an ego-boost when I completed it because a small group of people were working on the same route and I was able to complete it and look good too.
